Mission Research Launches SustainableNonprofit.org
Site Provides a Forum for Nonprofits to Learn and Share on Sustainability Topics including Human Resources, Fundraising, Investment and Management
Lancaster, PA (PRWEB) July 31, 2007 -- Mission Research, developer of the GiftWorks affordable donor management and fundraising software for nonprofits, today announced the creation of SustainableNonprofit.org, an online forum where employees, volunteers and board members at charities and other nonprofit organizations can learn new ideas and share methods for addressing issues of sustainability and the "values-driven" business model. More information is available at www.sustainablenonprofit.org.
Through the SustainableNonprofit.org web site, nonprofit organizations of all sizes and maturity will now have a virtual meeting place for sharing experiences, gaining insight and putting best practices into place for facing the challenges involved in building, growing and nurturing their missions. The web site provides a way for employees, volunteers and board members at a charity or nonprofit to obtain advice and counsel from over 20 contributing consultants in the nonprofit field. Site visitors can tap into the knowledge of others and benefit from their experiences. They can participate in the nonprofit community by reading or commenting via forums and blogs, discussing ethics and activism, sharing their own experiences, or just blowing off steam.
"Mission Research and the Giftworks team launched SustainableNonprofit.org to bring together nonprofit management experts and employees from smaller nonprofits that often lack the resources to hire experts, so they can share experiences and knowledge," said Charlie Crystle, Mission Research CEO. "We expect it to evolve into a fully independent site to help fill the gap for younger and smaller nonprofits."
According to Crystle, "Sustainability is an all-encompassing term that describes what nonprofits must do to remain viable organizations. This includes everything from salaries, healthcare and training; to fundraising; to management; to government regulations and more--these are all part of sustainability."
