Nonprofit Education & Communication Specialist
Basic Purpose: The individual in this position will be responsible for creating and managing multiple complex educational projects, including webinars, powerpoints, videos, and classroom presentations simultaneously, determing what projects are needed to effectively train GiftWorks users in the best use of the software. Individual will coordinate efforts of various contributors, ensuring that all training offerings are of high quality, that due dates are met by other contributors, keeping projects on schedule, leading training sessions, maintaining records, and publishing weekly reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stays abreast of all Giftworks applications, and has an in-depth knowledge of GiftWorks.
- Increase GiftWorks subject matter expertise within Mission Research’s staff through internal group and personal trainings.
- Effectively trains and communicates how to use GiftWorks to accomplish tasks within a non-profit organization.
- Constructs education materials (such as “how-to” videos, classes, curriculum, training, etc.) for GiftWorks product.
- Plan, implement and manage tactical marketing communication programs that present a positive, consistent image of the company across targeted market segments to support sales and marketing goals.
- Interacts with customers and non-profit consultants in a professional, courteous and helpful manner, and follows-up with customers that have purchased the software.
- Create, manage and adhere to delegated project budgets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Must have knowledge of fundraising software, preferably in a small to medium size organization.
- This position requires technical skills including the administration of web based tools such as GotoMeeting or WebEx. Also requires experience using PowerPoint, Access and/or Excel.
- Characteristics of the individual holding this challenging and multi-tasking position include maturity, self-confidence, attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills, creativity, patience, friendliness and demonstrable experience in the individual’s chosen area of expertise.
- A minimum of five years of proven experience in business-focused marketing communications is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Communications, or related curriculum.
- Internet experience required
- Outstanding organizational and presentation skills required
- Strong time management skills required
- Good listening and interpersonal skills; ability to relate well to others and understand their needs and concerns
- Willingness and ability to improve processes – self-starter
- Fast and motivated learner – needs to get up-to-speed on GiftWorks application, and corporate structure independently and quickly
Non-Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Previous experience working in a small to medium sized non-profit organization, preferably as a Development Director or an Executive Director.
