GiftWorks and the Fundraising Effectiveness Project
Mission Research has donated its developer time and partnered with the Association of Fundraising Professionals to encourage nonprofit organizations to participate in the Fundraising Effectiveness Project (FEP). The initiative includes a short survey and aims to help nonprofits increase overall charitable giving. We encourage you to participate!
To make it easy for our customers to participate in this groundbreaking annual survey, Mission Research has built a free GiftWorks add-in that automatically summarizes the statistical information needed for the survey. You can transmit the results directly to the FEP through this GiftWorks, or send it yourself as described below. None of your actual donor data is transmitted—just the stats.
Your participation will only take a few minutes, and will help thousands of other nonprofits. We greatly appreciate your consideration of this, and encourage you to take part in this project. Please see the instructions for completing the survey below.
Installing and Using the Fundraising Effectiveness Survey Add-In for GiftWorks
GiftWorks must be online to get the tool. You must also be using GiftWorks version 2.0.103.00 or later—click Internet Updates on the lower left border of GiftWorks, then Check for Updates to make sure you get the latest improvements.
INSTRUCTIONS
1.) On the top left of GiftWorks, click on Help, then select Manage GiftWorks Add-Ins.
2.) Copy and paste the following into the box at the top of the MANAGE GIFTWORKS ADDINS window:

3.) Click Install, then click Done. GiftWorks now has our FEP survey tool, which is located in Reports.
4.) Click the Reports icon along the top.
5.) Click the link Generate FEP Data on the blue left-hand menu.
6.) Read the instructions. The questions on the first page are all optional except for the period 1 end date (Question 10). The more information you provide, the more it will benefit the Fundraising Effectiveness Project.
7.) When you complete the survey, click the Generate FEP Data button at the bottom of the window. Your FEP report will be generated.
OPTIONS FOR SUBMITTING YOUR FEP REPORT
Once your FEP report is generated, you have three options for submitting your data:
Option 1
Click Send to Mission Research: Your data will be submitted to the Mission Research server. Mission Research will aggregate all GiftWorks customer data and submit it electronically to FEP. Your organization's identifying data will be stripped out and only the numeric data will be submitted.
Option 2
Click Save and save the information to a file. You can then email that file to FEP@afpnet.org.
Option 3
Click Print an print out the information. You can then fill out the online version of the survey at: http://websurveyor.net/wsb.dll/33613/fepsurvey.htm.
Once you have submitted your data, you can remove the add-in by going to the Help Menu and clicking on Manage GiftWorks Add-Ins, then clicking on Fundraising Effectiveness Survey, then clicking on Uninstall.
